Strategic Procurement Engineer – Global Sourcing

Job summary

Randstad Sourceright is seeking a Procurement Engineer to own a broad portfolio of globally sourced components and to develop and implement long-term sourcing strategies. You will collaborate with suppliers worldwide to ensure design for manufacture and cost targets are met, while working with R&D, SCM, and quality to drive robust supply chains.

International travel is part of the role. Initial training will be in the Oxford area with hybrid working two days per week after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Essential: mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in engineering and/or procurement developing mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
• Broad knowledge of electro-mechanical components and machining/fabrication processes.
• Strong cost structure analysis, cost driver analysis and target costing experience.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement with cost analysis and cost calculation across the product life cycle.
• Organise and perform Cost Value Engineering projects (Cost Analysis, Target Costing, Benchmarking).
• Support cost estimation for purchased parts during product design phase.
• Assist local procurement during price negotiations with cost/value analysis.
• Develop and standardise value and cost optimization methods.
• Support digitalisation and procurement transformation initiatives.
