Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking a Portfolio Risk Management Advisor to shape risk delivery across the FCRM Portfolio, Programme and Projects. You will lead on identifying and analysing portfolio risks, providing expert guidance to teams and senior leaders to support informed decision-making and robust governance.

You will influence risk maturity and drive improvements across tools, processes and working practices while collaborating with portfolio leaders and across the team to safeguard delivery

Qualifications

• P3 Risk Foundation: Practical experience in portfolio, programme, or project risk management.
• Strategic thinking: ability to identify and navigate emerging risks at portfolio level.
• Clear communication: translate data into clear reports and insights for senior leaders.
• Constructive influencer: confidently challenge ideas with evidence to shape decisions.
• Relationship building: collaborate across teams to foster proactive risk culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead identification and analysis of portfolio-level risks and emerging threats.
• Develop and embed effective portfolio, programme and project risk management approaches.
• Provide expert risk management guidance to programme and project teams.
• Support governance and assurance activities through robust risk analysis and reporting.
• Drive improvements in risk management tools, processes and ways of working.
• Build strong relationships across the FCRM portfolio to promote proactive risk culture.
