About the role

As a vital member of the Strategic Portfolio Governance team, the Strategic Portfolio Analyst is responsible for commercial reporting and analysis, identifying insights, risks, and recommendations to bolster the Customer Markets Strategic Portfolio. The role involves knowing program and project deliverables, analysing KPIs, capex, opex, benefit performance, milestones / schedule, and conducting risk and issue reporting & analysis. Furthermore, the Strategic Portfolio Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the efficient and effective operation of the Portfolio by offering planning, reporting, coordination, and governance support. The emphasis is on consistently delivering Strategic Portfolio Governance outputs punctually and with high quality.

What you’ll be doing :

  • Strategic Imperatives Insight – Understand and support the delivery of Customer Markets Strategic objectives by ensuring great collaboration, relationships and data are of the highest quality.
  • KPI & Value Management – Ensure KPI & Value reporting is on time and of high quality, collating insights into any variances to plan and supporting CM to remain on target.
  • Financial Reporting and Insights – Collate financial information to inform their financial management and budgeting decisions.
  • Portfolio Management & Maintenance – Ensure the ongoing hygiene and maintenance of the portfolio through sound practices, cadences and reporting including but not limited to KPI, Value, Cost, Milestone and risks.
  • Data analysis; insights & reporting- Prepare portfolio reports and presentations with appropriate insight to inform decision-making, financial management and health (including risks, issues, milestones, initiative status etc.) of the Portfolio.
  • Processes & Practices - Continuous improvement of portfolio reporting processes and practices, ensuring they are fit for purpose and are aligned to the best practice.

About You

What you’ll bring to the table :

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders from multiple business areas to close out issues efficiently and effectively whilst maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Ability to work and think quickly on your feet. Working across concurrent activities in a changing environment.
  • Previous experience in establishing and embedding strategic portfolio analysis functions is desired.
  • Proven experience in gathering, analysing, consolidating and preparing insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Practical (hands-on) experience supporting project delivery, and governance, under various methodologies including but not limited to Lean, Agile and PMBOK is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial practices and reporting, and SAP Financial management system experience is desirable but not essential.
