Position Summary:

The Strategic Planning Manager – HIP is a new role for Bodycote Specialist Technologies, responsible for driving and coordinating the delivery of HIP division growth strategy. The role is based in London, reports into the President Specialist Technologies and is a member of the global HIP Leadership Team. It supports and works closely with this team in developing all critical plans that are fundamental to the division achieving its 5 year vision.

The position holder will also maintain strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders, including Bodycote’s Group Strategic Planning & Delivery Manager, Head of Strategic Planning and CMO.

Responsibilities:

Growth strategy delivery and execution

• Responsible for partnering with the senior leadership team, co-ordinating and managing the execution of the HIP division 5-year strategic growth plan, in line with Bodycote’s annual planning cycle
• Developing and managing the plans for multiple strategic initiatives underpinning HIP division plans to accelerate growth
• Creating meaningful KPIs to efficiently track progress across all key initiatives, and regular reporting on this to HIP Leadership Team and Bodycote Group
• Carrying out periodic strategic deep dives to help develop strategic growth initiatives and support the division in this regard
  
  

Capacity planning

• Responsible for updating regularly the long-term sales forecast and capacity utilization
• Developing capacity increase scenarios, and supporting creation of business cases for capital projects
  
  

Strategic marketing

• Responsible for developing HIP division strategic marketing capabilities, and providing adequate tools and methodologies
• Carry out selected strategic marketing deep dives focused on further penetrating existing and new applications
  
  

M&A activities

• Responsible for assisting the HIP and M&A teams in developing and assessing the portfolio of M&A targets
  
  

Knowledge and Skills:

• Degree level education in engineering or similar subject relevant to Bodycote
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach which allows the position holder to actively drive our initiatives forward
• Proven track record working within a complex, multi-national, commercial environment
• Strong project management skill that facilitate effective workstream management in order to deliver measurable and tangible results
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – proven ability to work at senior levels as well as deeper throughout an organisation
• Strong and proven financial and analytical skills and experience
• An active listener who positively engages with the business and seeks feedback, input and support as required
• Delivers through relationships and can effectively & positively influence people without direct authority
  
  

Salary / package:

• Salary range of £80,000 – £100,000, plus bonus and a competitive benefits package.
• Pension – match contribution from 4% – 10%.
• Life Assurance – 2 x annual salary rising to 4 x if joined to Company pension.

• An entitlement to full pay whilst off sick for a limited number of days (in addition to your statutory sick pay entitlement).
