Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited seeks an Interim Planning Lawyer to provide specialist planning law advice to the Council, supporting planning, regulatory and development functions. You will manage a complex caseload and deliver commercially focused, legally sound guidance while protecting the Council's interests.

Working with minimal supervision, you will support planning committees and advise stakeholders, ensuring compliance with legislation and governance frameworks.

Qualifications

• Qualified professional with eligibility to practise planning law.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and advisory capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage complex planning caseloads.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist planning law advice on local government matters.
• Manage complex planning law caseload with minimal supervision.
• Advise officers, directors and elected members on planning and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate Section 106, Highway Agreements and Planning Obligations.
• Attend Planning Committees as legal advisor and deputise for Senior Planning Lawyer.
