Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Planning and Business Development Manager on a fixed-term, 12-month contract to shape future services, develop capital business cases and investment proposals in support of strategic priorities.

The role requires strong project management, NHS expertise, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders while delivering service improvements across clinical, operational and corporate teams.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree or equivalent experience.
• Recent service planning or change management experience in an NHS environment, preferably in an acute hospital trust.
• Project management experience.
• Substantial experience in NHS setting.
• Experienced in leading change through empowering people and holding them to account.
• Clear understanding of budgeting, investment and savings approaches in an NHS context.
• Ability to analyse complex problems and develop practical and workable solutions.
• Experience presenting complex information to internal and external groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diverse portfolio of projects from concept, through approvals and onward to implementation, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved.
• Develop bids for national funding, business cases, service plans and investment proposals that support the Trust's priorities.
• Provide expert advice, challenge and support to senior leaders and external partners.
• Develop financially robust, evidence-based proposals that align with organisational priorities and improve patient outcomes and experience.
• Shape future services and drive transformational change across the Trust.
