Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Planning Engineer/Manager to provide short, medium and long term planning for the Bedford Depot, ensuring balanced workload, resource availability and data integrity in the MMS. You will support depot improvements and drive production planning accuracy to maximise uptime and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience in rolling stock maintenance involving planning systems and railway operating constraints.
• Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience of productivity planning.
• Good knowledge of IT systems; familiarity with EXCEL, TACT, Equinox or CORMAP.
• Ability to develop and operate databases.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for short, medium and long term planning in conjunction with Production and other teams.
• Interrogate Maintenance Management System to ensure documents are current and components are within certification.
• Strategically plan material and resources.
• Raise data correction requests with Materials and Fleet Performance Teams.
• Liaise with departments to ensure compliance; perform regular data audits of MMS entries.
• Compile regular reports for Senior Management on maintenance integrity.
• Establish and monitor train examination star charts and block cards with the Maintenance Process Engineering team.
