Job summary
Roc Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Focal Network Engineer to lead a major Higher Education client project. You will act as the dedicated technical lead, guiding enterprise networking, service ownership, and consultancy across operational support and transformation initiatives.
In this role you will drive the transition from Cisco-based environments to Juniper Mist managed networking, while ensuring performance, resilience, and security of the network estate.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years in a 3rd Line Infrastructure or similar technical role.
- Experience in enterprise or campus networks.
- Cisco ISE and NAC expertise.
- WG3: network migrations, refreshes, or transformation programmes.
Responsibilities
- Act as trusted technical advisor and primary escalation point.
- Lead technical discussions, workshops, and governance meetings.
- Oversee network operations, performance, resilience, and security.
- Manage complex technical escalations and coordinate resolutions.
- Drive service improvement initiatives and maintain technical standards.
- Support network transformation, refresh, and migration programmes.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, roadmaps, and governance.
- Produce technical reports, risk assessments and improvement plans.
- Mentor engineers and share best practices across teams.
