Job summary

The British Council invites applications for Head of MEL Corporate and Strategic to lead evaluation strategy and evidence generation across the organisation. Qualifications

• Degree and/or equivalent experience.
• Experience delivering independent evaluations.
• Experience applying quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
• Line management experience or equivalent.
• Understanding MEL standards and funders (FCDO, EU).
• Experience procuring/managing evaluation consultants.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the annual strategic evidence plan aligned to organisational strategy.
• Oversee the strategic MEL budget and commissioning of independent studies.
• Line manage the Strategic MEL Manager and support leadership of strategic MEL studies.
• Lead a portfolio of strategic evaluation studies and guide progress.
• Disseminate findings to funders and partners and engage with senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Research, Strategy and External Affairs teams.
