Job summary

Prince Personnel is recruiting for a Procurement Planner in Telford to join a busy materials team within an engineering and manufacturing environment. The role combines procurement, materials planning and production coordination to ensure materials are available to meet schedules.

You will liaise with engineering, fabrication and stores teams to keep projects on track, develop fabrication plans and maintain visibility of material status and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience as Materials Planner, Production Planner, Buyer or similar role.
• Background in engineering, manufacturing or fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong planning, organisational and communication skills.
• Experience managing material requirements and production schedules.
• Commercial awareness and supplier coordination experience.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience using ERP/MRP system.
• Knowledge of fabrication, structural steel or engineering components would be beneficial.
• Proactive, organised and team-focused with a willingness to learn.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Processing material requirements to support manufacturing schedules
• Raising and expediting purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery
• Managing supplier communications and performance
• Maintaining stock levels in line with production requirements
• Managing call-off orders and pricing agreements
• Developing and maintaining fabrication plans, providing visibility of material status, manufacturing progress and project deadlines
• Liaising with Engineering regarding upcoming projects and manufacture start dates
• Attending daily production meetings and helping identify solutions to maintain schedules
• Working closely with the Stores department to coordinate material requirements
• Collating manufacturing data to support future planning and resource allocation
• Ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures
