Job summary

PE Global is recruiting for a Material Planning Analyst to join a leading global manufacturing and engineering organisation in Desford. The role supports production operations by ensuring timely material availability and effective supplier/inventory management.

Location: Desford, Leicestershire; Contract: 12 months; Pay Rate: £18.64 per hour; Hours: Mon-Thu 07:00-15:30, Fri 07:00-12:30. Flexible start times available.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience or knowledge of material planning, production scheduling, inventory control, purchasing or supply chain operations.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, production requirements and capacity planning.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to investigate issues and implement solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyse production schedules and material requirements to ensure parts and components are available.
• Liaise with suppliers to coordinate deliveries and manage shipping schedules.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and planning parameters for material availability.
• Investigate supplier quality and performance issues, applying root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production schedulers and teams to address material shortages and maintain continuity of production.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and support initiatives to improve delivery performance.
