Job summary

Alexander Daniels Finance Recruitment is partnering with a successful organisation to recruit a Management Accountant based in our client’s office in Birmingham. This role focuses on financial reporting, month-end activities, and business performance analysis across multiple entities.

The ideal candidate will combine technical accounting with commercial insight, support internal controls, and drive process improvements while working with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or another relevant analytical discipline, or possess equivalent practical experience.
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and analyse large volumes of financial data.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end reporting cycle for designated entities, ensuring deadlines are met and information is accurate.
• Produce monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis and commentary for stakeholders.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items promptly.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation accuracy.
• Assist with year-end audit requirements and statutory reporting.
• Support treasury activities and process supplier transactions where required.
• Review financial controls and reporting processes to improve efficiency.
• Provide cover and support across the finance function during peak periods.
