CFA Institute’s Research & Policy Center seeks a senior economic specialist to translate major structural disruptions into coherent macro-financial interpretations for global finance and investment practice.

You’ll work with a small, multidisciplinary team to stress-test assumptions, develop scenarios, and produce executive briefs. The role requires deep macroeconomics expertise and strong written communication, with eligible locations in the United States or United Kingdom.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in macroeconomics and economic systems analysis.
• Experience analysing structural economic change rather than cyclical forecasting.
• Strong understanding of economic transmission mechanisms and how they affect finance and investment practice.

Responsabilités

• Analyze macro-financial implications of major structural disruptions.
• Map transmission mechanisms affecting capital flows, growth, inflation, and markets.
• Translate structural change into clear economic questions and scenarios.
• Contribute economic expertise to scenario development and stress-testing.
• Use macroeconomic, financial, policy, and cross-country evidence to support or challenge assumptions.
• Collaborate with RPC teams to stress-test economics in investment theory and practice.
• Identify material developments to trigger reassessment of positions.
• Produce timely economic landscape assessments and executive briefings.
• Engage economists, practitioners, policymakers, and academics to challenge assumptions.
• Respond to priority questions from leadership.
