Job summary

Stroud District Council is seeking an experienced Housing Solutions Strategic Lead to shape housing services affecting residents across the district and drive innovative approaches to housing advice, homelessness prevention and refugee resettlement.

Reporting to the Strategic Head of Housing, you will lead statutory and strategic housing services, ensure legal compliance, and develop a high-performing team focused on customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of homelessness legislation and housing law.
• Significant leadership experience in a local authority or comparable setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across Housing Solutions services.
• Lead the development and delivery of the Council's Housing, Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy.
• Ensure compliance with housing and homelessness legislation and statutory duties.
• Drive service transformation, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Lead the Council's strategic response to homelessness and rough sleeping.
• Manage significant budgets, grant funding programmes and commissioned services.
• Build strong partnerships with housing providers, health services, voluntary organisations, government bodies and neighbouring authorities.
• Provide expert advice to senior leaders and elected members on housing matters.
• Lead and develop high-performing teams whilst promoting a positive, accountable and customer-focused culture.
