Job summary

Responsibilities

Strategic Lead - Homelessness, Rough Sleeping & Supported Accommodation

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Lead - Homelessness, Rough Sleeping & Supported Accommodation to provide visible and effective leadership across the council’s homelessness, rough sleeping and supported accommodation services.

This is a senior strategic role, equivalent to Head of Service, reporting directly to the Director of Housing Options and Homelessness.

The postholder will be responsible for ensuring high-performing, financially sustainable services that deliver positive outcomes for residents, while driving continuous improvement, innovation and value for money.

About You

You will be an experienced senior housing leader with substantial knowledge of homelessness and housing services, ideally gained within a local authority environment.

You should have:

• Significant experience leading homelessness and/or housing options services at a senior management level.
• Strong knowledge of rough sleeping and supported accommodation.
• Experience of strategic service planning, transformation and continuous improvement.
• Experience managing significant budgets and resources, with a strong understanding of value for money.
• Strong performance management and outcome-focused leadership skills.
• Experience working with Elected Members, senior stakeholders and external partners.
• The ability to lead complex services, manage competing priorities and deliver measurable improvements.
