Job summary

Matchtech is recruiting for a Lead Buyer - IT Transformation for a defence organisation in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. The role is permanent with 2 days onsite per week, offering £50,000–£60,000 plus benefits.

Responsibilities include leading RFI/RFP activity, gathering requirements, developing SOWs, and managing contracts across a major transformation programme. BPSS and SC clearance are required where applicable, with international stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading complex and strategic procurement activity.
• Experience managing large procurement projects/programmes in high-profile environments.
• Ability to build relationships with UK and international stakeholders and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic RFI/RFP activity to identify market players and supply partners for a major transformation programme.
• Act as the senior procurement lead, gathering requirements and developing statements of work (SOWs).
• Manage and develop contracts across the programme and related activities.
• Help implement a supplier relationship management (SRM) approach to ensure timely, quality delivery.
• Drive supplier performance and value, escalating issues as needed.
• Build effective relationships with UK and international stakeholders and suppliers.
