Job summary

Morgan Hunt are delighted to be supporting a public sector organisation as they look to welcome a Procurement Manager on a full time and permanent basis. The role focuses on IT category management and tender exercises, reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager with no direct reports.

The position offers hybrid working (2 days in office with parking on site), flexible hours and a strong emphasis on governance, compliance and supplier relationship management to deliver value for money.

Qualifications

• Significant procurement and contract management experience.
• Strong knowledge of public sector procurement and relevant legislation.
• Commercial, negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Excellent stakeholder, communication and influencing abilities.
• Experience developing procurement strategies and business requirements.
• Relevant procurement qualification is desired but not essential
• Ability to operate effectively within a complex, high-demand environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage tender exercises in line with procurement policies, financial procedures and applicable legislation.
• Maintain a robust, compliant and resilient supply chain.
• Develop and deliver effective procurement strategies across assigned categories and key suppliers.
• Provide expert procurement advice and guidance to senior management and budget holders across goods, services and works.
• Represent the organisation at relevant national procurement forums, advisory groups and collaborative initiatives.
• Work with national procurement and commercial partners on contractual, compliance and governance matters.
• Identify opportunities to enhance, develop and expand procurement services.
• Contribute to organisational improvement programmes, including commercial improvement, sustainability and value-for-money initiatives.
