Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking an experienced Head of IT to lead the delivery, development and performance of its IT services. You will report to the Chief Technology Officer and drive technology strategy, operations, security and governance to ensure high-quality services for residents.

You will oversee major programmes, manage suppliers and contracts, build strong partnerships, and lead a multi-disciplinary team in a hybrid working setting (3 days in the office).

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading IT in a large, complex organisation.
• Track record delivering technology-enabled change and improvement.
• Experience developing and delivering an IT strategy aligned to organisational goals.
• Strong understanding of IT security, data protection and information governance.
• Experience of programme and supplier management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a fit-for-purpose IT strategy and architecture.
• Lead IT operations, security, infrastructure and programme delivery.
• Manage major IT programmes and projects.
• Ensure robust cyber security, information governance and data protection.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation; manage commercial contracts and suppliers.
