Job summary

The Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a Technical Infrastructure Architect for a 9-month contract with a Local Authority in Surrey. The role provides architecture leadership and design assurance for networking, IAM, Microsoft 365, hosting and cyber security across multiple councils.

Hybrid working with travel to council sites as required, collaborating with delivery partners to ensure secure, resilient infrastructure aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Technical Infrastructure Architect within large-scale, complex IT environments.
• Expert knowledge of infrastructure architecture, networking, IAM, Microsoft 365, hosting platforms and cyber security.
• Experience designing infrastructure integration and transition solutions across multiple organisations.
• Strong understanding of modern architecture principles, cloud technologies, APIs, microservices and DevOps practices.
• Experience managing technical risks, business continuity and operational resilience during major transformation programmes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to translate complex tech to business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assessment of existing technical infrastructure across multiple organisations.
• Design and assure technical infrastructure solutions covering networking, IAM, Microsoft 365, hosting and cyber security.
• Develop transition and convergence strategies for service continuity and resilience.
• Produce and maintain architecture standards, design documents and decision records.
• Provide technical leadership to project teams, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with technical specialists and business stakeholders to ensure practical, secure, deliverable solutions.
• Identify, assess and mitigate technical risks and dependencies.
• Ensure designs align with enterprise principles and security standards.
• Support adoption of modern tech practices including agile, DevOps and cloud infrastructure.
• Contribute technical expertise to programme governance and decisions.
