Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a specialized Procurement Specialist with IT hardware expertise to join their Randburg-based team. The role focuses on strategic sourcing and procurement of servers, desktops, laptops, and network equipment within a hybrid work model.

You will evaluate IT vendors, negotiate complex contracts, manage lifecycle costs, and ensure alignment with the technology roadmap, collaborating with IT and finance to forecast needs and budgets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT hardware procurement or sourcing.
• Experience negotiating complex IT contracts and managing vendor relationships.
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to perform TCO analysis.
• Strong project management and communication skills in hybrid environments.
• Proficiency in procurement software and IT asset management systems.
• Certifications ITIL or CIPS are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for IT hardware, including infrastructure and end-user devices.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new IT hardware suppliers, managing relationships and performance.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and SLAs for IT hardware procurement.
• Manage the IT hardware procurement lifecycle, from requirements gathering to disposal.
• Collaborate with IT and finance teams to forecast needs, manage budgets, and track expenditures.
• Stay current with technology trends and market dynamics to ensure cost-effectiveness and innovation.
