Job Description:

We are seeking to fill an exciting position within the Leonardo UK Strategy and Technology team as a Strategic Initiatives Manager. In this role, you will collaborate with and support the Leonardo UK Capability and Innovation Director, their team, and other members of the Leonardo UK Management Team to achieve strategic objectives. The position offers a broad scope, providing varied and fast-paced activities that will allow the successful candidate to make significant contributions across all sites and divisions in the UK.

The role is based in the wider London area with regular UK travel.

What you will do

  • Build and leverage a trusted network across the company at all levels, including externally seconded employees, to gather and analyze information related to strategic capability development.
  • Facilitate meetings chaired by the Director, ensuring agendas are comprehensive and actions are recorded and followed up.
  • Prepare briefs for engagements, highlighting key information for immediate attention.
  • Create and compile presentations and speeches tailored to specific audiences for the Director.
  • Assist the communications team with speech writing to ensure content is audience-appropriate and aligns with the Director's delivery style.
  • Review incoming requests to the Director's office, providing summaries and recommendations for efficient responses.
  • Manage and enhance communication flows into and out of the Director's office, monitoring reception across the business.
  • Track actions assigned to and by the Director, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
  • Support the Director at exhibitions and conferences.
  • Maintain awareness of business activities across the company and the global defense industry and political environment.
  • Manage small projects or work packages independently, understanding and summarizing technical content from across the business.
