Job summary

All Saints CofE Primary School is seeking a Strategic Inclusion Lead to join the Senior Leadership Team and shape a whole-school inclusion strategy. You will work with the Headteacher and Deputy to embed high expectations, belonging and inclusive practice across all year groups.

The role leads SEND provision, early intervention, nurture and wellbeing; develops staff through CPD and coaching; and partners with families and external agencies to secure effective support for pupils.

Strategic Inclusion Lead - Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to school improvement and self-evaluation.
• Work closely with the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher to develop and implement a whole-school inclusion strategy.
• Promote a culture of high expectations, belonging and inclusive practice.
• Line manage and develop the Deputy Inclusion Lead, providing clear direction, supervision and professional development.

SEND & Early Intervention

• Provide strategic leadership for SEND provision, ensuring high expectations and access to a broad and ambitious curriculum.
• Oversee EHCP processes, provision mapping, interventions and transitions.
• Ensure early identification and appropriate support for pupils with additional needs, including within EYFS.
• Work closely with families and external agencies to secure effective support and provision.

Behaviour, Nurture & Attendance

• Support the development and implementation of a consistent, inclusive approach to behaviour.
• Oversee and develop nurture provision, including ELSA, SEMH interventions and mentoring.
• Support the school's attendance strategy, with a particular focus on vulnerable pupils.
• Use attendance and behaviour data to identify barriers and drive improvement.

Teaching Assistants & Staff Development

• Lead the strategic deployment of Teaching Assistants, ensuring support promotes independence and complements high-quality teaching.
• Develop and deliver training in SEND, adaptive teaching, behaviour, nurture and communication.
• Provide coaching and feedback to develop staff expertise and consistency across the school.
• Lead CPD linked to the school's inclusion priorities.

Safeguarding, Wellbeing & Personal Development

• Work closely with the DSL to identify vulnerable pupils and monitor safeguarding risks.
• Promote pupils' wellbeing, emotional regulation, positive relationships and sense of belonging.
• Ensure all pupils feel safe, valued and included and have access to enrichment opportunities.
• Contribute to multi-agency work where appropriate.

Partnership & Community

• Build strong relationships with parents, carers, governors and external agencies.
• Lead and contribute to meetings, reviews and multi-agency processes.
• Report on the impact of inclusion provision and support continuous improvement.
• Contribute to collective worship and promote the Christian ethos and values of All Saints'.
