Job summary

Smiths Detection in the UK seeks an experienced HSE leader to embed a high‑performing safety culture across UK and Ireland operations. You will develop, implement and audit HSE policies and training, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications across sites.

Collaborating with site management, you will drive continuous improvement, track HSE KPIs, report incidents, and lead audits and travel approvals.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years HSE experience in operational environments.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems; awareness of ISO 27001.
• Strong leadership, influencing and communication skills.
• Ability to lead change in a matrix organisation and drive safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Advise site management on HSE compliance requirements and provide SME guidance.
• Lead and embed a high performing HSE culture across UK and Ireland.
• Develop training and audit tools to support HSE programs and regulatory plans.
• Plan and direct HSE activities; investigate significant incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance and KPI reporting.
