Job summary

Wellcome Sanger Institute is seeking a Strategy Advisor for a 12-month fixed-term (or internal secondment) within the Strategy team of the Innovation and Impact department. The role will lead coordination of strategic activity, develop papers and briefings, and perform horizon scanning to inform decision-making across the organisation.

The role is hybrid with 2-3 days on campus in Cambridge and offers a salary in the £42,000–£50,600 range depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Organised and analytical, comfortable supporting strategic, programme and project activity in a complex and changing environment.
• Able to gather, interpret and synthesise information from a range of sources, producing clear and concise written materials for different audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and confident in managing multiple priorities while working at pace and maintaining a high standard of work.
• Collaborative and confident working with colleagues and stakeholders across different teams.
• Able to coordinate activity, track progress and ensure that actions and information are managed effectively to support successful delivery.
• Curious and adaptable, with an interest in the research and policy environment in which the Institute operates.
• Motivated by the opportunity to contribute to strategic work and help turn information and insight into effective planning and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development and delivery of strategic initiatives, papers, briefings and other materials.
• Coordinate activity, support meetings, workshops and senior-level discussions across the organisation.
• Horizon scan trends, opportunities and risks and consider implications for the Institute.
