Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting a Head of Group Financial Control for a growing FCA-regulated financial services business. You will lead financial control, statutory reporting, governance and audit, while driving improvements across finance systems and processes to support future growth.

Based in Cheltenham, the role offers scope to build a high-performing team, mentor reporting accountants, and act as a trusted adviser to the CFO and executives on technical accounting and M&A integration.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with significant experience leading financial control, reporting and governance.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory reporting.
• Proven track record delivering robust controls, audit management and high-quality financial information.
• Experience developing high-performing teams and partnering with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
• Deliver statutory and management reporting under UK GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee external audits, balance integrity, reconciliations and risk management.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and controls.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing finance team for scalable growth.
• Advise CFO and Executive team on governance, accounting, and strategic matters.
