Job summary

Chesterfield Poultry in Doncaster, UK, is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead end-to-end procurement in a food manufacturing environment. You will source raw materials and packaging, negotiate supplier contracts, and ensure compliance with food safety standards while delivering cost efficiencies.

The role requires strong negotiation, ERP experience (SAP/Oracle), and the ability to manage supplier performance, budgets, and KPIs to maintain supply continuity and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain.
• CIPS procurement qualification desirable.
• Proven procurement experience in food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals.
• Source, evaluate, and contract suppliers for materials and packaging.
• Negotiate pricing, SLAs, and contracts to achieve best value.
• Ensure supplier compliance with HACCP, BRC, ISO standards.
• Coordinate with production and logistics to maintain material availability.
• Identify risks and implement contingency sourcing plans.
