Job summary

Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service is seeking a Fleet, Asset and Commissioning Manager to lead fleet strategy, asset management and commissioning activities. You will develop vehicle specifications, manage procurement, and support the capital replacement programme, while leading teams across Martlesham and collaborating with cross-service forums.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification (Level 6/7) or equivalent.
• Significant leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop teams.
• Strong knowledge of procurement, contract management and project delivery.
• A Category C (Class C) driving licence.
• Experience managing budgets, producing reports and developing departmental plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead on fleet strategy, asset management and commissioning activities.
• Develop vehicle and equipment specifications and manage procurement processes.
• Manage and support teams based at Phoenix House and Anson Road, Martlesham.
• Represent Fleet Services at strategic forums and boards.
• Build relationships with regional and national TOG networks to share best practice.
• Provide expert advice on fleet-related matters to influence service-wide decisions.
• Manage projects from conception to delivery within budgets and timescales.
• Monitor revenue and capital budgets and ensure value for money in procurement.
• Drive innovation by exploring emerging technologies to enhance fleet capability.
