Job summary

South Yorkshire Pensions Authority in Barnsley is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to lead the strategic finance function and collaborate with auditors and suppliers. The role requires a CCAB qualification, strong CPD, and extensive public sector experience.

The post is full-time, hybrid, with a salary of £56,818–£63,802, plus benefits and relocation support. You will partner with senior staff to shape financial strategy and improve service delivery.

Qualifications

• Professional accountancy qualification from a CCAB body with up-to-date CPD.
• Significant experience in public sector finance, ideally Local Government or LGPS.
• Proven ability to translate strategy into operational plans and lead staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic finance team and manage relationships with external auditors and key suppliers.
• Translate strategic objectives into operational plans and present business cases.
• Provide financial guidance to the Senior Management Team and elected members.
• Deliver projects to embed continuous improvement across finance functions.
