Job summary
South Yorkshire Pensions Authority in Barnsley is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to lead the strategic finance agenda and develop the team. You will drive financial planning within the public sector and manage relationships with external auditors and key suppliers.
This role focuses on translating strategy into operational plans and delivering continuous improvement. The successful candidate will influence the organisation at all levels and support CPD and professional development
Qualifications
- Professional accountancy qualification from a CCAB body, preferably CIPFA, with up-to-date CPD.
- Significant public sector finance experience, ideally Local Government or LGPS.
- Proven track record translating strategy into operational plans and leading staff.
- External facing role managing auditors and key suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic finance team and manage relationships with external auditors.
- Prepare business cases and present reports to senior management and elected members.
- Provide advice on strategic finance issues and deliver training on relevant subjects.
- Coordinate and deliver projects to embed continuous improvement.
