Job summary

Unum UK is seeking a Finance Business Partner to the COO and senior Operations leadership. You will lead FP&A, forecast claims performance, and develop cost/resource models to drive efficiency and informed decisions.

You will partner with Finance, Actuarial and Operations to evaluate initiatives, build compelling business cases, and ensure robust financial inputs. You will also guide a high-performing team and strengthen governance and compliance.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant or Actuary with significant post-qualified experience in a complex financial environment.
• Strong Finance Business Partnering experience with the ability to influence senior leaders and challenge constructively.
• Deep understanding of FP&A, forecasting and business performance management within a large or complex organisation.
• Experience developing financial models, claims forecasts, resource plans and business cases to support strategic decision making.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, turning data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with credibility across Finance and Operations.
• Proven track record of leading and coaching high-performing teams through change.
• Strong commercial awareness balancing operational objectives with financial control.

Responsibilities

• Act as the key Finance Business Partner to the COO and senior Operations leadership team, providing strategic insight and commercial support.
• Lead financial planning, forecasting and analysis of claims performance across the product portfolio.
• Develop and maintain cost and resource models to improve financial transparency and efficiency.
• Partner with Finance, Actuarial and Operations to evaluate initiatives and build business cases.
• Oversee claims forecasting coordination with actuarial experts and ensure robust inputs.
• Produce and enhance claims management information, identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Drive improvements in forecasting methodologies, reporting and analytics.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team and foster accountability and collaboration.
