Job summary

Unum is seeking a seasoned FP&A professional to lead planning, forecasting and analysis across UK and US stakeholders. You will shape financial plans, deliver insightful reporting, and support senior decision making with robust modelling tools.

The role focuses on driving annual planning cycles, monthly performance reviews and continuous improvement of financial reporting processes, including governance and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA CGMA) or equivalent finance experience.
• Experience in FP&A or similar analytical finance role in a large, complex business.
• Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet and performance metrics.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis processes.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; ability to create insightful reports and models.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; confident presenting to senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead FP&A activities and support strategic decision making.
• Support annual planning cycle and ongoing forecasting for UK and US stakeholders.
• Produce monthly management information, including Monthly Performance Review (MPR).
• Deliver financial analysis and recommendations for senior executive decision making.
• Develop and enhance reporting, forecasting and modelling tools.
• Build and maintain expertise in financial planning systems (Anaplan).
• Partner with Finance and business teams to understand performance drivers and challenge assumptions.
• Translate complex financial data into clear insights and presentations for senior stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships across the organisation and understand business performance.
• Contribute to governance and control; ensure compliance with Information Security and regulatory obligations.
