Job summary

The Care Inspectorate in Scotland is seeking a Head of Finance and Corporate Governance to provide strategic leadership across finance and governance functions. You will drive improvements in financial planning, reporting, procurement, risk management and business continuity to ensure efficient, transparent public service delivery.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, engage with the Board and external regulators, and shape strategic financial decisions to support high-quality care outcomes

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in public sector finance, accounting, financial planning, governance, procurement, and audit.
• Strong leadership and strategic influencing skills across multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of corporate strategies across finance, governance, procurement, risk, health and safety, facilities management, and business continuity.
• Provide expert financial and strategic advice to the Chief Executive, Board, Executive Team, and senior leaders.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, payroll, capital and revenue planning, audit, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead governance, risk management, business continuity, and disaster recovery frameworks for organisational resilience.
• Ensure procurement and contract management deliver value for money and best value principles.
• Drive continuous improvement and high-quality service delivery across all functions.
• Lead, develop and motivate multidisciplinary teams and promote wellbeing.
• Build relationships with Board members, auditors, regulators, Scottish Government and partners.
