Job summary

The Office for Students (OfS) seeks two Strategic Finance Advisers to join the Regulation Directorate in Bristol. You will lead financial monitoring of higher education providers, using your accounting qualifications and senior-level experience to scrutinise financial data and advise on risk management.

You will engage with Finance Directors and Accountable Officers to support regulatory aims. As senior staff, you will help develop and deliver the organisation's strategy, ensuring credibility

Qualifications

• Essential: Accountancy qualification and extensive financial management and audit experience.
• Essential: Proven ability to engage with senior management.
• Essential: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Desirable: Good understanding of the higher education sector finances.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial monitoring of HE providers and assess sustainability risks.
• Engage with senior management to discuss financial risk management.
• Provide expert financial advice and challenge stress-testing and contingency plans.
• Support regulation delivery through analysis and regulatory risk assessments.
