Sulzer Leeds is seeking a Category Buyer - Fabrications to drive procurement for fabrication and welded assemblies. You will build supplier networks, analyse spend, and negotiate pricing and contracts to secure best value for critical projects worldwide.

Ideal candidates bring manufacturing procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems; CIPS progress is encouraged. Onsite role with attractive benefits and sport/tech perks.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing within a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Experience sourcing fabricated, welded or machined components.
• Strong commercial awareness with proven negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project-driven environment.
• Experience with local and international suppliers.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
• CIPS qualification or progress towards accreditation.
• Experience in heavy engineering, pumps, fabrication, oil & gas, power gen, water or mining sectors.
• Understanding of technical engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for fabrication and welded assembly requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Source and evaluate suppliers based on capability, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts and framework agreements for best value.
• Support project teams with procurement planning for orders and schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive improvement initiatives.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure continuity of supply.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to resolve supplier issues.
• Analyse spend data and market conditions to support category strategy.
• Ensure compliance with policies and ethical sourcing standards.
