Job summary

MK Consult are recruiting an experienced Estimator to support a growing portfolio of new build housing and construction projects across the North West and wider UK. The role focuses on securing successful bids through detailed cost estimates and tender submissions while evaluating subcontractor quotations.

You will review drawings and specifications, identify value engineering opportunities, and work closely with clients and teams to deliver competitive proposals and robust pricing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry.
• Experience pricing new build housing, residential or general construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and procurement routes.
• Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for residential and construction developments.
• Review drawings, specifications and contract documents to ensure accuracy.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to optimise cost.
• Produce bills of quantities and pricing schedules.
• Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and operational teams to support bid submissions.
• Support bid presentations and contract negotiations.
• Maintain awareness of current market conditions and construction costs.
