By partnering with Ruskin Mill Trust, we help create lively centres for special needs education, arts and culture, festivals, social enterprise, and community initiatives. We also manage landscapes with woodlands, farms, market gardens, and a historic fish farm, all through holistic, biodynamic agriculture.

Ruskin Mill Land Trust (The Trust) and Ruskin Mill Trust (RMT) are separate, sister charities inspired by shared principles from Ruskin, Morris, and Steiner. RMT operates various schools, colleges, and provisions across the country, utilizing practical land and craft activities to support young people with autism spectrum conditions and other learning differences. More information can be found at rmlt.org.uk/buildings.

The post holder, as a key member of the Ruskin Mill Land Trust team, will be responsible for:

  • The stewardship of the Trust’s estates and assets
  • Management and effective utilization of all property, considering environmental, aesthetic, financial, town planning, and land use factors
  • Ensuring proper use and maintenance of property assets, including farms, woodland, listed buildings, former industrial sites, and residential properties
  • Collaborating with Trust professionals such as the Trust Head of Property, Biodynamic Land Manager, Architects, Environmental and Energy Managers, Legal Team, CFO, and Executive Director to develop strategic plans for property development and management

To undertake this role, candidates should have:

  • A Chartered Surveyor or Registered Architect
  • Experience in property and estate management

In return, we offer significant personal development opportunities within a holistic, growing organization on a national scale, and the chance to contribute to improving the lives of young people and their families. We provide opportunities for a Masters-level qualification developed by RMT and ongoing CPD to enhance your skills.

Working at Ruskin Mill Trust is highly rewarding; we offer competitive salaries, holiday allowances, an auto-enrollment pension scheme with a salary sacrifice option, a health cash plan, and an employee assistance program via Medicash.

Staff also receive valuable training, including an interactive induction to our Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE) curriculum, and options for further training and academic research, including our own MSc in Practical Skills Therapeutic Education.

Full details of our benefits are available at www.rmt.org/careers.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment. Successful applicants will undergo a DBS Enhanced Disclosure, medical checks, references, qualification verification, and right-to-work checks in the UK.
