Job summary

Durham County Council is looking for a forward-thinking Strategic Enterprise Architect to shape the technology strategy and guide how digital services are designed and delivered for residents, staff and communities.

You will work with senior leaders to define operating models, support major transformation programmes and establish architecture standards that enable modern, resilient and efficient services. This is a temporary role until 30 September 2029.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in enterprise architecture and digital transformation.
• Strong stakeholder management and governance skills.

We are looking for a forward-thinking Strategic Enterprise Architect to lead and guide the development of our technology strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to influence how digital services are designed, delivered and improved across one of the largest councils in the country.

Working with senior leaders and teams across the Council, you will help define future operating models, support major transformation programmes and establish architecture standards that enable modern, resilient and efficient services for residents, staff and communities.

We’re looking for a collaborative leader with significant experience in enterprise architecture, digital transformation and technology strategy within a complex organisation. You will bring strong stakeholder management skills, sound judgement and a passion for using technology to support service improvement.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You should be educated to degree level or equivalent in Computer Information Systems / Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or have a further relevant technical vocational or management qualifications.
