Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group Plc is seeking a Technical Purchaser for a well-established engineering manufacturer in the United Kingdom. You will support day-to-day procurement, raise purchase orders, source new suppliers, and negotiate terms to align with production needs.

Close collaboration with engineering, production and planning teams will be essential to meet schedules. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing procurement, strong communication, and proficiency with ERP

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a purchasing/procurement role in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Good understanding of supply chain processes and procurement best practices.
• Comfortable working with ERP systems and Excel.
• Proactive, organised, and a strong team player.
• Attention to detail with a commercial mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day procurement activities across a wide supplier base.
• Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Source new suppliers and obtain quotations in line with business requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any delivery or quality issues.
• Work closely with engineering, production, and planning teams to support operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate records within ERP systems.
• Assist with stock control and inventory management where required.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and procurement processes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function.
