Job summary

Ealing Council seeks a seasoned Head of Education Planning, Resources and Sustainability to steer school place planning, admissions, and funding strategies. The role requires strong leadership within the education/public sector, data‑driven decision making and a track record of delivering complex changes.

You will lead cross‑agency collaboration with schools, trusts and regional partners to secure sufficiency, equity and high‑quality education for all children across the borough.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience within education or public sector.
• Strong track record in school organisation, admissions or education strategy.
• Experience leading complex change programmes and influencing policy development.
• Expertise in data-driven planning and financial management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead school organisation and place planning across mainstream and SEND.
• Oversee school admissions and fair access arrangements.
• Direct pupil support services and entitlement programmes.
• Ensure school financial sustainability and resource management.
• Plan Dedicated Schools Grant and Schools Forum activity.
• Drive education sufficiency, commissioning and capital investment.
• Lead major change programmes arising from local priorities and national reforms.
