Job summary

Sefton Council is seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Sufficiency Officer to support the Best Start in Life agenda. You will monitor demand, assist place planning and drive development of childcare across Sefton, working with schools, providers, parents and partners.

You will contribute to the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment, analyse market trends and support commissioning, ensuring inclusive provision for all children, including SEND and vulnerable families.

Qualifications

• Three years' experience in childcare sector.
• Sound understanding of childcare legislation and Ofsted expectations.
• Experience building relationships across stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of Sefton’s Childcare Sufficiency Assessment and Action Plan.
• Analyse childcare demand, sufficiency and market trends.
• Work with maintained, private, voluntary, and independent providers to develop sustainable childcare provision.
• Contribute to commissioning, place planning and service development.
• Provide business support, advice and guidance to childcare providers.
• Undertake financial assurance and compliance activities.
• Develop partnerships with schools, providers and families.
• Ensure provision meets needs of all children, including SEND and vulnerable families.
