Job summary

The University of Law is seeking an exceptional Director of the Students’ Union to shape the next chapter and strengthen its impact on the student experience across multi-campus communities.

As Director of the Students’ Union you will set strategic direction, strengthen student engagement and lead the organisation’s transition towards greater independence, working with the Governing Board and university leadership to ensure financial sustainability and an independent student voice.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience within a Students’ Union or similar governance body.
• Strong understanding of SU operations, democratic representation and student experience.
• Proven ability to lead strategic change and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Experience working with a Governing Board and university leadership.

Responsibilities

• Set the Union’s direction and translate priorities into measurable outcomes for students.
• Strengthen democratic participation and student engagement across communities.
• Develop governance and operating arrangements to support future independence.
• Lead organisational development, capability and delivery of priorities.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting and risk management for sustainability.
• Build partnerships with University leadership and external stakeholders using student insight.
