Job summary

East Kent Colleges Group is seeking a Deputy Head of Professional and Service Industries at EKC Ashford College. You will lead quality improvement in teaching, learning and assessment within the department, monitor performance indicators and drive swift interventions to raise outcomes for learners.

You will support curriculum development, work with the Head of Department to implement the strategic plan, oversee staff appraisals, observations and line manage lecturers and support staff, ensuring

Qualifications

• Background in education and a teaching qualification.
• Experience of line-managing a team and leading staff appraisals and observations.
• Experience in further education and supporting lecturing staff to deliver high-quality teaching to young people.

Responsibilities

• Improve the quality of teaching, learning and assessment in the department.
• Monitor key performance indicators and implement timely interventions.
• Support curriculum development and implement the strategic plan with the Head of Department.
• Scrutinise data monthly and act on retention, achievement, attendance and student satisfaction.
