Job summary

DWP Digital in the UK is seeking a Senior Data Governance Manager to lead data governance across the Chief Data Office. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders to embed best practice, shape governance policies and ensure compliance with legislation.

You will drive the rollout of the Data Ownership Model, evolve the Data Governance Framework and deliver cross-government data programmes, helping our stakeholders improve data maturity and quality. Hybrid working from hubs including Sheffield.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in a data governance role, including design and implementation of data governance frameworks and practices.
• Experience advising on data governance approaches, setting direction and collaborating across teams with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to translate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills to assess information, identify issues and inform data risk reporting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to operate within a strategic context and align activities with strategy.
• Experience using industry leading data management and data governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to influence change and embed data governance best practice.
• Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and champion continuous improvement.
• Help develop the wider data governance community across DWP.
• Lead initiatives including rollout of Data Ownership Model and evolution of the Data Governance Framework.
• Deliver Data Quality Frameworks and cross-government data programmes.
• Support stakeholders to improve data maturity, governance adoption and data quality.
