Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Senior Data Center Enterprise Architect to lead a strategic Hybrid Multi-Cloud client engagement from Eindhoven, translating client direction into implementable designs and ensuring modernisation of the Data Center estate.

You will work at the intersection of architecture, engineering, transformation and service delivery, collaborating with client and NTT DATA teams to deliver resilient, scalable data center services and integration with cloud platforms.

Your day at NTT DATA

NTT DATA is looking for a Senior Data Center Enterprise Architect to play a key role in a strategic Hybrid Multi-Cloud client engagement.

The client will continue to operate a substantial Data Center estate alongside its Public and Private Cloud platforms. The challenge is therefore not simply to maintain traditional infrastructure. It is to modernize and optimize Data Center services while enabling migration, automation, resilience, and integration with the wider Hybrid Multi-Cloud operating model.

You will operate at the intersection of architecture, engineering, transformation and service delivery, working closely with the client’s Enterprise and Infrastructure Architects and with NTT DATA’s Data Center, Private Cloud, Public Cloud, security and operations teams.

The client retains ownership of Data Center strategic architecture, standards, security policies and key architectural decisions. Your role is to act as NTT DATA’s senior architectural advisor for the Data Center domain: translating client direction into implementable designs, recommending improvements, challenging technical decisions where appropriate and ensuring NTT DATA’s managed services remain technically current, resilient and supportable.

You will be an active member of the delivery organization, connecting architectural decisions to engineering, transformation, and ongoing service operations.

This is a client-facing role. You will work directly with client stakeholders in day-to-day delivery discussions and represent NTT DATA at a senior technical level.

This role requires availability to work on-site in Eindhoven three days per week.

What you will do

• Act as NTT DATA’s senior strategic and technical advisor for the Data Center domain.
• Build strong relationships with the client’s Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud, Security and service-management teams.
• Translate client architecture standards and technology direction into implementable Data Center designs.
• Develop, review and challenge high-level designs (HLDs) and low-level designs (LLDs) across Data Center infrastructure and platform services.
• Provide architectural guidance across compute, storage, virtualization, backup, databases, middleware, container platforms and related infrastructure services.
• Guide infrastructure modernization and lifecycle decisions across the existing estate.
• Support architecture and lifecycle decisions affecting the existing Cisco UCS/FlexPod, NetApp and Rubrik environment.
• Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt, improve stability, simplify the estate, and reduce infrastructure or software costs.
• Ensure Data Center services integrate with the client’s new OpenShift-based Private Cloud and existing Public Cloud environments.
• Support the architectural aspects of workload migration and Data Center consolidation, including interfaces with the Hybrid Multi-Cloud migration factory.
• Support the client’s Berlin transformation and other in-scope Data Center modernization activities where required.
• Contribute to availability, capacity, resilience, backup, disaster recovery and ransomware-recovery architecture.
• Ensure monitoring, observability and operational-management requirements are considered as part of architecture and design.
• Support integration with the Hybrid Multi-Cloud observability model, including LogicMonitor and approved client monitoring platforms.
• Support automation of infrastructure operations and integration with the client’s service-management and orchestration model.
• Ensure designs align with the client’s ServiceNow processes, CMDB/CSDM data models, and operational handover requirements.
• Work closely with client and NTT DATA Security teams to ensure infrastructure designs comply with client security requirements and support Zero Trust, access control, segmentation, hardening and security evidence requirements.
• Understand and manage architecture dependencies on retained providers, particularly where network, facilities or other services remain outside NTT DATA’s direct control.
• Support Data Center capacity, lifecycle and technology-roadmap planning.
• Advise the client on emerging infrastructure technologies, modernization opportunities and potential platform improvements.
• Ensure recommendations consider portability, interoperability, supportability and avoidance of unnecessary provider or technology lock-in.
• Support architecture assurance during major incidents, recurring problems and complex technical escalations where deeper design-level expertise is required.

You do not need to be the hands-on specialist for every infrastructure product.

You do need enough technical depth to understand how the components interact, challenge engineering proposals, assess operational consequences, and provide credible architecture recommendations.

What we are looking for

Ideally, you bring:

• Significant experience as a Data Center Architect, Infrastructure Architect, Enterprise Architect or Principal Architect.
• Deep knowledge of large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Strong understanding of compute, storage, virtualization, backup and enterprise networking.
• Experience with Cisco UCS/FlexPod and NetApp environments, or comparable enterprise infrastructure stacks.
• Strong understanding of backup, recovery, and cyber-resilience architecture.
• Experience designing highly available and business-critical infrastructure.
• Experience with infrastructure lifecycle management, modernization and technical-debt reduction.
• Understanding container platforms and the relationship between traditional Data Center infrastructure and modern Private Cloud platforms.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and modern operational practices.
• Understanding observability, monitoring, and event-management architecture.
• Experience integrating infrastructure architecture with enterprise ITSM and configuration-management models.
• Strong understanding of Hybrid Multi-Cloud architecture and workload migration.
• Experience working in complex multi-provider environments with clearly defined service boundaries and dependencies.
• Experience with architecture standards and governance in environments where the client retains strategic design authority.
• Strong consulting and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Confidence engaging directly with senior architects, technology leaders and engineering teams.
