About The Role
Southampton City Council have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Data Analyst to join the Data, Intelligence and Insight Team within Southampton City Council. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering comprehensive and integrated intelligence and data analysis, to enable the Council to make decisions and manage its services based on a strong evidence base and a single version of the truth. The team is responsible for the development, production and presentation of highly complex advanced analysis and modelling, including the provision of Post 16 intelligence.

The role will be responsible for supporting the Post 16 service with statutory data collections, developing detailed analysis including the creation and quality assurance of complex reports and dashboards from the Core+ database, combining multiple data sources, research and evidence to identify needs, trends, patterns and behaviours to influence decision making across the city.

About You
The successful candidate will have degree or professional qualification in a relevant area and significant experience of working in an analytical role with a track record of with excellent numerical, research and range of analytical skills. As well as knowledge of data management and manipulation, information governance and reporting; visualisation and mapping, you will have knowledge of statistical techniques and procedures, including specialist knowledge of analytical tools and languages such as SQL, R, Power BI, GIS, Microsoft Office and other statistical software packages required for data input, analysis and presentation.
