Job summary

The National Farmers' Union (NFU) seeks an Adviser (Dairy) to champion dairy farming interests and help shape policy for the sector. You will provide expert policy guidance, develop lobbying strategies, and analyse developments in legislation, technology, and markets relevant to members.

You will translate complex issues for diverse audiences, build influential relationships with NFU colleagues and government partners, and play a key role in keeping members informed and represented on critical

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, with knowledge of the UK food industry, policy development or government decision-making.
• Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills are essential.
• Strategic thinker capable of working independently and managing competing priorities.
• Understanding of agriculture or the dairy sector is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert policy advice to dairy farming members and shape future policy directions.
• Develop lobbying strategies and analyse legislative, technical and market developments.
• Communicate complex policy issues clearly to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
• Build influential relationships with NFU members, government ministers and industry partners.
• Ensure members are informed and represented on issues affecting their businesses.
