Job summary

SSE Transmission is seeking a Cost Manager (Cost Controller) to join the Procurement & Commercial team, overseeing cost control across multiple projects to support a major investment programme. The role emphasises accurate forecasting, reporting and integration with contract management.

Based in Scotland with flexible working options, the role will deliver monthly cost reporting, actionable insights for stakeholders and ongoing process improvements within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in cost control and reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with Excel, Power BI and Oracle/ERP systems.
• Knowledge of commercial aspects of contracts (FIDIC/NEC3).

Responsibilities

• Manage Cost Control across multiple projects including value of work done, forecasting, reporting and integration with Contract Management.
• Produce monthly Cost Control reporting with accuracy and timeliness.
• Present Cost Control data at Monthly Cost Reviews, explaining variances.
• Use Cost Control data to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of Cost Control processes.
