Job summary

Oasis Trust is seeking a Strategic Community Development Lead to guide Oasis Hub Oldham and align youth and community work with academy objectives. The role collaborates with the Academy Principal, volunteers and local partners to create a cohesive community vision.

The successful candidate will drive family and youth programs, sustain partnerships, oversee policy, plan resources, and measure impact to maximise community benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven budget management and funding income securing.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of community work.
• Education to degree level or equivalent or relevant professional qualification.

Job description

This is a key role as you will be responsible for strategic oversight of the local charity, ensuring the youth and community work is aligned to the the work of the academy, working alongside other local Oasis leaders such as the Academy Principal, volunteers and members of the local community to develop a joined up local vision for the community.

Some of the specific duties of this role include:

• Establishment and coordination of a range of provision such as family support, youth work, holiday clubs, volunteering and community empowerment projects.
• Maintaining and building supportive working partnerships across the community and various groups.
• Leading policy and process oversight.

This is very much a relational and project management role. As such, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate:

• A strategic mindset, and experience of leading community delivery and growing projects.

• An education to degree level or equivalent and /or relevant professional qualification.
