Job summary

Barnsley Council is seeking a Strategic Communications and Marketing Officer to support the Environment and Transport service on a 10-month fixed-term cover. You will craft compelling content, run integrated campaigns and use media relations to raise the council's profile across the borough.

You'll develop insight-led plans with SMART objectives, deliver digital strategies for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok, and engage communities to tell their stories with clarity and impact.

Qualifications

• Level 6 qualification in communications or marketing, or Level 3 with extensive equivalent experience.
• Experience in communications or marketing roles with diverse channels.
• Proven ability to develop strategic communications and campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging content across channels with SMART objectives.
• Develop digital marketing strategies, using social platforms effectively.
• Liaise with local/national media and pitch stories for Barnsley.
• Manage multiple projects with political understanding of stakeholders.
