Strategic Client Lead - Generation Services

Here's what you'll be doing

npower Business Solutions (nBS) is the E.ON UK Industrial and Commercial (I&C) pillar and a market leader in the B2B energy retail sector. I&C is a £7 billion revenue business serving c20,000 customers and approximately 200,000 meter points.

We have an exciting opportunity for x2 Strategic Client Leads to join our Generation Services team. This role is critical for identifying, negotiating, and executing structured Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), to procure the exported power, ROCs (Renewable Obligation Certificates) and REGOS (Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin) from renewable and embedded generators in the 5-50 MW capacity range. The role is homebased, with nationwide travel required (car allowance provided).

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities through structured PPAs, ROCs, REGOs, and related services.
  • Drive revenue growth by meeting or exceeding gross margin targets, with a focus on 5-50 MW embedded generation assets in the UK.
  • Establish and maintain senior-level relationships with generators, project developers, aggregators, brokers, and corporate off-takers.
  • Work closely with the internal teams in Commercial, Pricing, Operations, and Legal to structure competitive commercial offerings.
  • Collaborate with supply-side sales teams to identify cross-sell opportunities within existing account portfolios.
  • Monitor market trends, policy developments, and competitor activities to enhance positioning.
  • Contribute to the development of new products and services that improve market penetration and revenue opportunities.


What we need from you

  • A strong understanding of the UK Energy Market specifically skilled in development, negotiation, and execution and of complex products and contractual and financial and credit management tools, specifically in the Generation Services market space.
  • Established network of contacts within the embedded and renewable generation industry in the UK.
  • Deep understanding of contract structures, pricing mechanisms, and risk allocation strategies within PPAs.
  • Demonstrable awareness of the strengths and weaknesses of the competition in the Generation Services market, along with the ability to capitalise on this knowledge.
  • Full UK driving licence.
